United Surveyor’s of Arizona inaugural press release [USofAZ January 1st 2016]
PHOENIX, Jan. 1, 2016 — United Surveyors of Arizona (USofAZ) announces the official launch of a new, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the vocation, art, and science of land surveying for the benefit of the profession and the public.
USofAZ will launch with a Board of Directors and Advisory Council that is made up of a cross-section of professionals who are committed to the advancement of land surveying and mapping. It will provide opportunities and resources for continuing education; be a source for local, regional and national professional information, and serve as a method for surveyors to interact with each other as well as other professionals in a positive and progressive manner. The motivation behind USofAZ is to compliment similar organizations and provide alternative avenues for professional advancement.
USofAZ is offering three levels of membership with varying degrees of commitment. Members will be required to serve on committees and participate in continuing education for their own benefit, as well as community outreach. Also, members are encouraged to maintain membership in the National Society of Professional Surveyors as well as other local, regional, and national professional organizations.
