Owner, 45th Parallel Geomatics, LLC Oregon, USA

Noted as an outstanding example of the next generation of land surveyors willing to take the challenge of running a small business, Samantha Tanner is the owner/operator of 45th Parallel Geomatics LLC in Hood River, Oregon. She’s also a member of the NSPS Young Surveyors Network and the Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon.

Samantha does not differentiate between her business and her volunteer work. She says, “My philosophy is that your career should not be something separate from yourself and the values, principles, and ideals that are important to you. I believe in making a positive impact on the community, and your day-to-day work needs to be aligned with that.” She has volunteered with Columbia Riverkeeper, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ragnar Relay NW Passage.

Samantha is a graduate of the University of Alaska, Anchorage, with a BS in geomatics.
