A powerful skillset of expertise in surveying and GIS plus business acumen is what Aaron M. Butterer is known for.

At The Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC), Aaron is instrumental in preparing all forms of survey drawings, legal descriptions, and exhibits in support of leasing activities of the real estate department. He has essentially created the ARRC Depot GIS Portal from scratch, starting from an obsolete database. H

e also developed a GIS-based phone app for photographing and reporting trespass and other incidents and is working on a dataset to catalog all of the monuments that ARRC has surveyed for cadastral purposes.

In addition to being active in the local and national GIS community, Aaron has worked on the ARRC technology advisory committee and has participated in qualifications-based selection review committees. He is one semester away from obtaining his MBA.
