Throughout January xyHt.com will feature the young geospatial professionals who are making a name for themselves in everything from surveying to geographic information systems. xyHt featured all of them in the January issue. Here we will spotlight one each day.

Education: BS Geomatics Engineering (concentration in cadastral land surveying) with honors, University of Calgary
Biography: Nathan is a passionate leader, seeking to deliver tangible value for customers through geospatial applications. He spent two years working as a surveyor at Stantec Geomatics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In his time in the field, Nathan gained a broad set of experiences from high-rise construction surveys in downtown Calgary to UAV mapping in the Arctic Circle.
These experiences provided Nathan with a deep understanding and respect for the role that geospatial data plays in our society. In 2020, Nathan joined Trimble’s Rotational Leadership Development Program where he has played an instrumental role in both product development and marketing strategy. Throughout his time at Trimble, Nathan has been responsible for managing the development of cutting-edge products in mixed reality, construction, and design.
In his current role, Nathan is tasked with telling the story of geospatial data in the tunneling and mining industries and developing new technologies to solve critical customer problems. Nathan is inspired by the adoption of location-based data and is eager to play his part in the future of spatial technology.
