GIS Strategist and Natural Resources Account Manager, Esri Portugal

As the Portuguese representative of Young Surveyors Network, account manager at Esri Portugal, business consultant, and owner of a small company, Edgar Barreira is a true young entrepreneur.

At Esri, Edgar develops GIS strategies for customers’ needs; manages, identifies, and generates sales opportunities and assists in sales; and explores new technology trends such as BIM and virtual and augmented reality.

He’s also the founder and strategist at Atleta-Digital/Lap2Go, a timing solutions provider for 100+ events/year in Portugal and EMEA markets.

In his work with FIG, Edgar was the organizer of the first FIG Young Surveyors European meeting in 2013, and he’s been involved ever since. In 2017 he was an inspirational speaker at the fifth YSN meeting during FIG Working Week, encouraging surveyors to embrace, and become leaders in the implementation of BIM.
