Director of Geographic Design
Caitlin Blundell launched Geographic Design in 2011 after graduating from the University of Toronto with an MA in geography; Geographic Design provides GIS services to clients in the urban design industry. She excels at communicating the value of geospatial data, tools, and technology to people outside our sector.
Caitlin is on contract as communications lead for GeoAlliance Canada, a new national umbrella organization for the geospatial sector, and she’s recently taught at the Chang School for Continuing Education at Ryerson University as a GIS instructor. She is active in her local Open Data and OpenStreetMap communities and serves as director of programs for URISA Ontario. Nominators noted Caitlin’s dedication to Canada’s geospatial community and educational outreach and for inspiring young geospatial professionals by example of exemplary service.
Caitlin likes playing ultimate Frisbee, kayaking, and spending time with her husband and two-year-old son.
