Mild weather, smiling faces, and lots of chocolate greeted nearly 600 attendees at the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Surveyors Conference at the Hershey Lodge & Conference Center.
The goal of supplying a broad range of continuing education opportunities was clearly met by conference chairman John G. Fuehrer, executive director Kate Sherman, and assistant Laurie Troutman. Thirty-two diverse workshops, with thirty-two presenters, made the three-day conference interesting and fast moving.
The exhibit hall was filled with equipment, service, and educational suppliers. Each evening, a “cocktail hour” buffet was available in the hall which created an enjoyable surrounding for the attendees to mingle with the vendors.
The PSLS installation and awards banquet was held on Monday evening with the always-entertaining David Doyle, retired from NGS, as the keynote speaker. The event included G. Windsor Tracy, PLS of Lansdale, PA, named as Surveyor of the Year, and the gavel passed to incoming president Adam Crews, PLS, of Bucks County Chapter.
The Tuesday dinner was the place for the raffle and auction, which benefits education and student attendance at the conference. Keep mid-January 2015 free in your schedule so that you’re able to attend this outstanding conference next year!
